Stitched on 22 count White Aida using 1
strand throughout. Stitch Count: width 32 x
depth 32. This design fits either an AP55U or
an AP16U, I have used Lavender thread but it
can be stitched in any colour.
Work the design with the fabric turned by 45
degrees to place the weave onto the diagonal.
The green lines on the chart are for guidance
only, showing the
divisions between
the central squares.
The inner border
round the central
design is worked in
two layers as shown
by the two colours
on the chart. Work
the layer of stitches
shown in blue first,
then work the layer
shown in orange over
them to make a criss-
cross pattern.
I have also made two other variations on
the design using different colour threads. The
cream design is worked onto cream fabric, it
has a simpler border and hand written message.
The central design is worked in pink
onto white fabric and has a simple
pink ribbon border.
